If you ask Jodi where to book dinner in Bozeman, Little Star Diner is her favorite. It’s a lovely choice for an evening built around good food and time together, whether you’re visiting for a weekend, celebrating something special, or simply ready to enjoy a night out.
A little taste of Montana
This modern diner takes its lead from the farms around it. Chef Charley Graham and farmer Lauren Reich opened Little Star in 2017, bringing their work in the kitchen and the field together.
Much of the produce comes from their own Little Star Farm near the Gallatin River, with other ingredients sourced from local growers and ranchers. The menu changes with the season, so browsing what’s cooking is part of the pleasure. It’s a reason to return on a different visit rather than arrive with one particular dish in mind.
James Beard recognition
Little Star has earned attention beyond Bozeman. In 2024, chef Charley Graham was named a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Mountain, the region covering Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming.
You can find his listing in the James Beard Foundation’s official 2024 semifinalist announcement. It’s a wonderful recognition of the cooking happening right here in our neighborhood.
Make an evening of it
Leave a little room in your plans for a leisurely dinner. Little Star is a short walk from both properties: just down East Babcock Street from Vintage Estate at Church and Babcock, and a few downtown blocks from Loft503 at Church and Mendenhall. Leave the car parked and enjoy dinner close to home.
