Some moments become part of a town’s story. Montana State’s national championship is one of them.

Congratulations to the MSU Bobcats, the coaches, and everyone who helped bring home the 2025-season FCS national title! From all of us at VRBozeman, we’re proud to celebrate this chapter in Bozeman’s history.

A finish worth remembering

On January 5, 2026, the Bobcats defeated Illinois State 35–34 in overtime in Nashville. It was Montana State’s first national championship since 1984.

Justin Lamson’s touchdown pass to Taco Dowler tied the score in overtime, and Myles Sansted’s extra point secured the win. After a season of hard work, it came down to a finish Bobcat fans will remember for years.

A season for the whole community

One of the things we love about Bozeman is how much the university is part of everyday life here. Alumni, families, students, neighbors, and visitors all bring their own connection to the Cats.

A championship gives everyone something to celebrate together. We’re happy to add our congratulations to the many voices cheering on this team.
